Writing & Producing up a storm!

Hello amigos!

It’s been a very busy summer and fall around here and I wanted to share some of the latest. First off, I have a new web series underway! We’ve shot the pilot episode and we’re currently in post. I think it’s going to be very funny! Wish us lots of luck, as we need a green light for the series in order to shoot more episodes. More to come on that later.

I also wrote, directed and produced a commercial spot for a Splash Media client – Midland Radio. They make all sorts of awesome stuff for extreme sports – and I was super excited when they went for the idea we pitched them. Check out the final product below…

I also produced and directed a short video series for a LASIK Eye client in Phoenix. I know it sounds boring – but it actually turned out to be a very heart-felt little series, as we followed a young lady through a life-changing eye surgery. Check it out:

Part 1 – The Day Before Surgery

Part 2 – The Day of Surgery

Part 3 – The Day After Surgery

As someone who’s had LASIK – it really is that easy.

It’s been too long!

Hello friends,
It’s been quite a while since I posted an update on the website, but I have good reason – I’ve been busy! What else can a person working in this industry ask for, other than a steady stream of jobs. Busy is definitely a good thing :)

So I’d like to report a few things. First off, a movie I worked on a little while back (Zero One) has been seeing some great traction. Here’s a review that just came out on it: LINK HERE. The creator of the film is looking to turn it into a Television series, which I would be acting in, as well. If you’re interested in helping that dream come true – we’re accepting donations for the project on our KICKSTARTER PAGE – any and all donations are extremely appreciated.

I’d encourage anyone that’s a fan of independent film and/or Sci-Fi to check it out. Here’s a link to watch the entire film in all of it’s glory, courtesy of the very talented Writer/Director Kareem Gray

In other news, I’ve been doing a lot of producing – which is a skill that has proven very helpful in the past when it came time to shoot projects I’ve written. I recently produced a few different spots for a variety of clients (ie. La Madeleine, AMX, BeLo Corp, and others). I created a reality web series for a client of mine in Phoenix, Moretsky Cassidy LASIK, and we’ve released the first episode of the 3-part series – available to watch here…

On the screenwriting front, I’ve been working on a couple of different feature film projects (hopefully more to report on that soon), and have had the opportunity to write some commercials for Fox Sports Southwest – which is super fun!

More updates to come!

The 2012 Fort Worth Addy Awards

I just heard that a Honda commercial I worked on several months back won a Gold Addy, a Silver Addy, and BEST OF SHOW last week at the 2012 Fort Worth ADDY Awards. Congrats to Director Joe Childress and my co-star and Dallywood cohort, Bryan Massey! That’s very cool news.

Dallywood (the pilot episode) – Sizzle Reel

I am so happy to finally have this finished up and available to share.  Here is the trailer for the television pilot we shot, based on the Dallywood web series.  Our director and editor, Drew Rist recently cut this together and I am so excited!

Riverwind Casino Commercial

Having family all over the country definitely has it’s perks – especially when something I worked on is only running in a specific area.  My folks received an email recently from a relative of ours in Oklahoma asking if I was in a Casino Commercial recently. And as a matter of fact – I was!

This was a really fun spot to work on – as we spent the entire afternoon at a blackjack table at the Riverwind Casino in good ole Norman, OK.

Quick Entertainment

I had a really fun opportunity recently to shoot for the cover of Quick Entertainment.  The issue was covering the Dallas International Film Festival, and I love nothing more than a good film festival!

Honda Commercial

I haven’t posted anything new in a long time – but that does not mean nothing has been going on.  In fact – TONS of awesome stuff has been in the works lately, including the Dallywood pilot almost being finished!  We’re hoping to arrange for a screening of that very soon.  In addition to this – we’re in development on a feature length film that I wrote.  It’s still in the early stages of development, but hopefully I’ll be able to share more regarding this project here soon!

On the acting front – I recently had the chance to work with an awesome local production company on a Honda commercial that currently airing.  And here that is…

Zero One

Happy Holidays, good people!

This past week, I was treated to a screening of a film I worked on not too long ago called Zero One.  I had seen some rough footage, but still couldn’t tell what the finished film was going to look like. After seeing a finished version – I have to say, everyone involved did an amazing job!  The film far exceeded my expectations and I hope this smart piece of Indie cinema gets the exposure it deserves.  Cheers to writer/director Kareem Gray for all of his efforts.  Here’s the trailer for the film…

In a related note, the filmmaker is currently raising funds to help cover the costs of submitting the film to festivals around the country.  This can be a very expensive process, especially once you factor in the travel and marketing expenses that a filmmaker incurs just to support something like this.  If you’d like to support independent film, a great filmmaker and a wonderful film – check out Zero One’s IndieGoGo Page.

Dallywood (the pilot) in Production

Hey all!

I’m very happy to announce that we are officially in Production on a TV pilot based on the Dallywood web series. We started shooting on Friday the 12th and we should be wrapped by this coming Friday (the 19th).  The Dallywood team of Drew Rist (director), Bryan Massey (lead actor), Kirk Edwards (sound guru) and myself are very excited to be upping the ante with this pilot.  We’ve received some early press on the pilot that I’d like to share:

Pegasus News interview with John P. Meyer (click to read)

We’ve also shot a couple of Promo Teasers for the pilot:
